More info

During the 14th and 15th centuries, it became increasingly common for nobles to provide "livery" to their soldiers, and numerous laws, known as ordinances, were adopted to enforce the wearing of livery among royal, ducal, or even lordly troops. These brightly colored and easily recognizable liveries served as uniforms, concealing the various armor and clothing worn underneath. Equipping their best troops in this way impressed the adversary while facilitating the identification of allies and enemies, thus reducing the risk of friendly fire.

Made from DURABLE QUALITY WOOL with historical brass buttons inspired by London finds. Hand wash or machine wash COLD if necessary (preferably with similar colored garments to avoid any risk of color transfer). Do not tumble dry. Can be ironed on low heat if necessary.
