If there is a helmet that embodies the spirit of the fifteenth century it is truly the salet: it is worn by all types of fighters, from the humblest militiaman to the greatest noble!
Practical, convenient and relatively light it was a much more versatile helmet than the heavy big bacinet "alla francese" or the Italian armet.
It is as well appreciated by the archers of the French and Burgundian Ordinance Companies as by the Francs Archers bowmen provided by the parishes and the good cities of the kingdom, as well as by most of the English billmen & archers, but also by the hallbardiers, vougier, arquebusiers and pikemen of most european infantry and of course also by the light cavalry which appreciates its versatility and even by the men-at-arms who form the elite of the heavy cavalry of the European army of the time!

Do you wish an armour with the same brightness as the most beautiful harness of the fifteenth century?
The "Nobleman" mirror polishing is what you dream of !
Reaching this level finish is a long and tedious task, but then you will have the same quality of reflection that what could be found on the best-preserved parts of original armours of that time.
NOTE: Most armours in museum today have been quite "brutally" cleaned during the eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth century. The surface finish that we usually see today has nothing to do with how the armour was in the XV century. In most cases, the only way to see the real original "mirror polish" is to disassemble a strap or a reinforcing piece and look underneath.
